When our alarm went off this morning, neither of us were ready to get up. Knowing we had a short day, we hit snooze and fell back asleep. Around 10:00 we finally got moving and packed up camp. We felt a little like lazy bones, but I have to admit it was awesome. Today was the first time we have ever slept in, in our tent and it was great. Usually we are up early because we have big miles or we want to get into town as soon as possible. It was so nice to get moving at our own pace today.
We hiked most of the afternoon and got to the next shelter pretty early. We set up our tent, took a bath in the stream and even made a fire. That's what I love about getting to camp early-- you get to relax. Ps. The fire we made definetly would have passed the Boy Scout merit badge test!

you probably meant "drop a line" from people you know (one of whom I am not) but I will vocally support you anyway: Hope you enjoy the last miles of the AT! I am jealous (in a way) and thank you for the posts and most notably the pictures.

Were your ears burning Sat. night??? Your Mom and Dad came for dinner and we had such fun talking about you two and how much we miss you and how ready we are for you to come home!!! Keep up the good work, enjoy yourselves, and know that we all love you very much......Saundra and Eddy
You guys continue to be my heroes. keep it up, you are such an inspiration. i can't wait to see you guys and hear some of the stories that haven't made the blog. you always have a home away from home where ever i am. be safe and enjoy the rest of the trail.
