Port Clinton, PA

Day: 89 (June 22)
Starting location: 501 Shelter
Ending location: Port Clinton, PA
State: PA
Miles today: 23.7
Miles total: 1,208.1

Today we set out to do an easy 15.0 miles, but when we arrived at the shelter the water source was very poor. Kristen and I knew we didn't have enough water to last us until tomorrow afternoon. So after some planning on the fly, we decided to go the additional 8.6 miles into Port Clinton, PA. When hiking the AT you must learn to be extremely flexible and plan on having your plans changed.

The additional 8.6 miles proved to be difficult in dwindling daylight, rain, and rocky terrain. Often the most difficult part of the trail is getting mentally prepared for your hike ahead. Kristen may love Lilly Pulitzer but don't let her fool you, she is one tough cookie. She has tackled over half of a trail that brings most people to their knees. I am so proud to call her my wife.

How do you possibly spent $22 dollars at Taco Bell for 2 people
